Avisé Version anglaise

Avisé, situated at the top of the hillside, in the middle of the woods, is an ancient fiefdom under the authority of Amboise.

The name « Avisé » appears for the first time in 1212, but the lordship was only mentioned in the middle of the 15th century with Raymond de Dezest, tailor to King Charles VIII, then the King’s valet and the Dauphin’s butler. Around 1490, he was an advisor, treasurer of the King and bailiff of Amboise.  He was also the manager of the construction of the castle of Amboise. He had a half-timbered building built in the manor (facing west-east) around 1475.

In the 19th century, the manor belonged to Lucien Blaive, Abbe Blaive’s brother.

The building was registered on the 5th of December in 1984 in the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments. Alfred Gasnier, a village’s carpenter, participated in the restoration of the mansion of Avisé in the late 1980s, in collaboration with the current owners, the Crouy-Chanel Family. All the roofs have been restored : nearly 35,000 tiles were installed at a rate of 70 tiles per square meter.
